VTU Development Cells in 122 Engg. Colleges in State

The Visvesvaraya Technological Univeristy has started entrepreneurship development cells in 122 engineering colleges in the state to identify, train and motivate students to become successful entrepreneurs, said Dr. S. Sreedharan, faculty member, Central for Entrepreneurship Development in Karnataka here Monday.

He was the chief guest at the inauguration of a three day training programme arranged at BIET jointly by the Visvesraya Technological University, Belgaum and the Industry Institute Partnership Cell.

He said through these cells coordinators are trained to inspire the young and intelligent students to become entrepreneurs so as to make them not job seekers, but providers of jobs to others.

With changing developments in the world updating of knowledge of latest inventions and modern methods were needed for promotion of entrepreneur developmental activities, stressed Dr. S. Kotrabasappa, member, Bapuji Educational Association.

The thirst for knowledge can be fulfilled through skilled training, as training for these motivators was needed as chaning things in the fields of labour, market management and also in technical sectors.

Without information about the latest happenings the entrepreneurs cannot be given proper training, he said.
